MEET THE AUTHORS
KYANDREIA JONES
Kyandreia Jones is a Posse Miami Scholar and a Creative Writing major at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. She was born and raised in South Florida. When she thinks of home she likes to muse that she is in a “sunshine state of mind.” Jones’ poetry and prose has been published in various college literary publications and magazines such as Red Weather, Grasping Roots, The Black List Journal and The Underground. Opportunities like having her first short story “At Home” published by Living Spring Publishers in Stories Through the Ages, College Edition 2017 inspired Jones to take her writing to new heights.
KATHERINE FACTOR
Katherine Factor is a writer, editor, and educator. She has mentored young writers for decades, having taught at Idyllwild Arts Academy, Interlochen Arts Academy, and in summer programs. A graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, she is a recipient of an Iowa Arts Council grant and residencies at the Vermont Studio Center and Squaw Valley Community of Writers. Her manuscript, A Sybil Society, was a semi-finalist in the Cleveland State University first book prize in 2017.
RANA TAHIR
Rana Tahir is a Kundiman Fellow and a public school substitute teacher. She received her MFA from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. She was born in Pakistan and raised on the beaches of Kuwait. Tahir’s poetry and prose has been published in various literary publications and magazines such as Catch, The Interlochen Review, and Fresh! Literary Magazine. Her first book of non-fiction, a biography of the poet Countée Cullen, was published in 2016 with Cavendish Square Press.
